Kano APC Crisis: Ganduje loses again in court
Story from Saleh INUWA, Abuja
For the third time, Kano State Government has lost its case in court for the declaration of Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas as the duly elected Chairman of the party in the state, and not Alhaji Ahmad Danzago.
During the recent congresses of the party in all the 36 states, Kano had a parallel congress, between supporters of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and the state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who sponsored the outgoing caretaker chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, and this led to the declaration of two chairmen of the party in the state.

Worried by this, the state government took the matter to a Court in Abuja but lost. It then appealed the judgement again in the Abuja Court of Appeal, but it lost again.
Both judgements favoured Ahmad Danzago of Shekarau and Barau Jibril faction, but the state government appealed for a stay of execution of the previous judgments, but it lost again as Justice Mua’zu Hamza of Abuja High Court ruled that the appellant did not prove why the election should be cancelled or why there should be a stay of execution, and ruled that the status quo should be maintained.
