Neptune Prime CEO unveils ‘The Arbiter’ to support Lami Fatima Cervical Cancer Foundation

Dr Hassan Gimba Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Publisher of Neptune Prime today unveiled a book ‘The Arbiter’ which is a compilation of his written articles to support the Lami Fatima Babare Cervical Cancer Awareness Foundation (LFBCCAF).

‘The Arbiter’ volume one and two were reviewed by Malam Suleiman Uba Gaya former Deputy President Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).

The Foundation is a non-profit organisation set up by Dr Gimba and duly registered with the corporate affairs commission in 2020, named after his wife Hajiya Lami Fatima Babare, who died in 2018 due to complications caused by Cervical Cancer. It was founded to enlighten people, especially women, on the possible prevention and cure of Cervical Cancer.

The guest speaker of the event is the First Lady of Ondo State Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, a cancer survivor and women activist.

Mrs Akeredolu stated that Cervical Cancer is a preventable and treatable disease. Yet, Nigeria has one of the highest numbers of cases worldwide, saying Cervical Cancer is the second most common cancer in women in Nigeria.

To achieve the transformative actions that will accelerate the elimination of Cervical Cancer, Mrs Akeredolu appealed for the inclusion of HPV vaccination in the national routine immunisation schedule.
