PDP said the activities of the suspended chairman “were in clear violation of the various sections of its constitution”.

The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public, and supporters of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), that the State Chairman of our party, Colonel Bala Mande (rtd) has been suspended for anti-party activities.

“This becomes necessary owing to the fact that the Chairman has been conducting the affairs of the party without the involvement of the State Working Committee, and the leader of the party which is a flagrant violation of the constitution of our party.

“The suspension has become necessary to forestall the abuse of power and offending the constitution of the party”.

“The suspension is for a period of one month to allow the Working Committee to constitute a panel of inquiry into the allegations.”

Meanwhile, it has emerged that the PDP shifted its scheduled governorship, senatorial, house of representatives and house of assembly primaries due to disputes over the final list of delegates and reconciliation efforts.

The Presidential primary is scheduled to hold on May, 28-29, 2022.
