Remembering 3 Potiskum airforce Pilots who died flying Plane

Potiskum, the largest or 2nd largest town, in Yobe State, has lost three (3) indigenes that were pilots in the Nigerian Air force to plane mishap in the last 52 years.

The first one was; Squadron Leader Idriss Maina

Late Maina lost his life during the air display rehearsals against Nigeria’s 10th anniversary in Lagos on the 14/8/1970. His jet collided with that of his colleague and fell in Lagos lagoon. He was one of the early trained pilots in the country.

The second one; Squadron Leader Baba Ari

Late Ari as well lost his life during the 2018 Independence day ceremony air display rehearsals, his NAF F-Ni jet collided with that of his colleague in Abuja; he tried to eject himself but couldn’t.

And the third, Flt. Lt Abubakar Alkali

Alkali lost his life on the 19/4/2022 when thier NAF plane, along with his colleague, crashed in Kaduna.
