Yobe North Senatorial Seat: Bade indigenes drum support for Machina’s candidacy

The People of Bade Emirate have declared their total support for the Yobe North APC senatorial candidate, Honourable Bashir Sheriff Machina, saying the entire people of Bade and Jakusko local government areas were behind his candidature.
While holding a solidarity rally in Gashua town to affirm their unshakeable loyalty to Machina, leaders of the different groups that organised the rally said, they have resolved to work hard to ensure that Bashir Machina takes over from Senator Ahmad Lawan in 2023.
Bashir Machina pulled 289 votes out of the 300 total votes cast during the senatorial primary election that was held on 28th May 2022 and this made him the APC senatorial candidate to represent Yobe North.

Following speculations that he had stepped down for the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan who also hails from the district, Machina came out recently to counter the rumour, even as it was also speculated that Lawan while pursuing his failed presidential aspiration obtained the same senatorial form secretly.
At the Palace of Emir of Bade, former Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Alhaji Saleh Kachallah, who spoke on behalf of all the groups told the royal father that they were in his Palace to specifically seek his blessings and formally inform him of their resolve to support the candidature of Bashir Machina who is from old Nguru.
The groups reaffirmed their total loyalty to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Honourable Mai Mala Buni, and thanked him for supporting a very competent hand to replace Ahmad Lawan.
Emir of Bade, HRH, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman thanked the groups for visiting him and wished Bashir Machina well in his political journey.
Hundreds of supporters from all the nooks and crannies of Bade and Jakusko area council’s attended the solidarity rally.
