Kannywood female wing to arrest actresses living in hotels

The president of the newly inaugurated Association of Kannywood Female Artist (AKAFA), Hajiya Rashida Adamu, has indicated the intention of the association to start raiding hotels in Kano, especially in Sabon Gari Area to arrest some of their members that staying in hotels, thereby giving a bad name to the association.

The AKAFA president who is one of the pioneer members of Kannywood vowed to commence the exercise on the 15th of August beginning from Sabon Gari where there is a large concentration of hotels and other joints where women of easy virtue stay in the area and reports have it that some Kannywood artiste also stays there.

“We are going to embark on the operation with members of the Police Force, Hisbah, Vigilante and our members so that we don’t violate or breach the law. That is why we recently formed the association of Kannywood Female Artist, the intention is to help our poor members, foster unity among us and also embark on massive sanitation of the industry”.

According to the producer, and director, people always look at female actresses as very cheap women that are only after money, and can do anything when the price is laid.

“I am worried over this because since I started acting I have never gone to any hotel in Sabon Gari or a joint for any reason for that matter, but you always hear of our members being arrested in hotels, especially in Sabon Gari.

“Our association is not out to challenge the Motion Picture Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) or Kannywood stakeholders, we’re part and parcel of the industry. If you come to us and complain that some of our members are into dirty businesses we will definitely listen to you, but if you say some of our members are erotically dancing or singing on social media, in some cases with transparent dresses, well that is part of entertainment and there is no way we can stop that but we can advise them”, she added.
