NGO urges youths to be ambassadors of peace implementation in Adamawa

A non-governmental organisation, Adamawa Youth Empowerment and Social Development, with support from USIAD State-to-State programme, has organised a submit advocating for youths to be ambassadors of peace implementation.

The submit was tagged Adamawa Inclusive Peace Agender sensitised the youths on how to be useful to themselves and live responsibly as an asset and not as a tool that can be used for destruction.

Speaking at the submit, Dr John Ngamsa, a lecturer with the Modibbo Adama University (MAU), charged the youths to understand their roles in the mitigation of conflict and the implementation of peace in the society.

Dr Ngamsa called on the youths to equip themselves with education and to always add value to the society. He said that young people are full of potential so they should look at the future with optimism.

Lending his voice, Mr Musa Shalangwa, Executive Director Adamawa State Youth Empowerment and Social Development encourages the removal of ethnic and religious sentiments in order to achieve peace and development.

The participants appreciated the NGO for the programme, stating that development of peace will make Nigeria as a country a better place.
