ASUU suspends strike ‘conditionally’

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its 8-month-old strike conditionally after a meeting with its national executive committee in the early hours of Friday, October 14, 2022.

The suspension is coming after the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) agreed to modify the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPS) to accommodate the peculiarities of the University Transparency Accountability System (UTAS), and Universities Peculiar Personnel Payroll System (UP3S) as well as the provision for the payment of the union’s salaries during the seven months of no work.
