2023 Guber: I am set to rescue Jigawa from abstract leadership – Mustapha Lamido

Story from Dahiru SULEIMAN, Dutse

Mustapha Sule Lamido, the son of former Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has declared his intention to join the governorship race in the state in 2023 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at a mammoth PDP rally held in Dutse on Friday, he said “My declaration of today was to honour the pressure of series of clarion calls from my party faithful to contest for governor so as to bail our dear state from the verge of collapse.”

Lamido who insisted that he was forced by the Jigawa citizens to contest said that he answered the call with the sole aim of saving the people from APC’s “atrocities”.

He described the APC government as a failed and deceitful government, adding that, the ruling party pushed Nigerians into hardship.

“After several calls both from political elders, colleagues and other friends, I Mustapha Sule Lamido, in the name of Allah, I will contest for the governorship position in the 2023 forthcoming general election in Jigawa state.”

He solicited for support and prayers of all and sundry saying, “collectively we wish to rescue our state from abstract leadership of the ruling party to a purposeful leadership of progress and development.”

The 39-year-old Lamido urged youths to close rank with him in his cardinal objectives in moving Jigawa state forward if given the mandate, as youths are the backbones and pillars of any societal development.
