Police Service Commission appoints 12 new Commissioners of Police

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and deployment of 12 commissioners of police to different state commands.

This comes as the chairman of the PSC, Dr Solomon Arase, a retired inspector-general of police, called for greater dedication to national duty from the new state command commissioners.

Dr Arase emphasized that the new postings demand a lot of commitment and innovativeness from the commissioners and require them to exhibit total loyalty to the Nigerian nation.

He noted that, during this national transition period, the new state command commissioners must brace themselves for challenges in the course of their duties.

The PSC chairman advised the commissioners to quickly settle down to duty and tackle the security challenges in their respective states of posting.

He wished them well and pledged the commission’s support at all times, adding that the commission will monitor their stewardship in their various state commands and ensure that they do not deviate from established rules and regulations.

According to the spokesman of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, the new commissioners of police are as follows: Mohammed Usaini Gumel, posted to Kano State Command; Haruna Gabriel Garba, posted to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command in Abuja; Tajudeen Abass, deployed to Delta State Command; Oladimeji Yomi Olarewaju, posted to Ogun State Command; Taiwo Jesubiyi, posted to Ondo State Command; and Julius Okoro, deployed to Benue State Command.
