Adamawa gov’t, NCDC train MDAs on effective health communication

The Adamawa State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) with other partners organised five days of training for relevant Ministries, Departments & Agencies (MDAs) on social media management and effective public health communication.

According to Adamawa Daily Reports, the five days training aimed to expose the participants to risk and communication management.

Some objectives of the training include developing and implementing social media strategies for public health communication in the state, monitoring and managing the information on social media during an outbreak, disseminating accurate and timely information about the outbreak to the public, and strengthening the infodemics management process among others.

The training consists of paper presentations, video displays, group work, and games for easy understanding and comprehension.

Participants in the training were drawn from the state Ministry of Health, Water Resources, Environment, Agriculture, Information and Strategy, Primary Health Care Development Agency, National Orientation Agency, NCDC, etc.

The training is digital based with almost everything done using a computer and accessed via the internet.
