Manchester City have been crowned champions of the 2022/23 English Premier League (EPL) after beating Chelsea by a lone goal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

City were officially champions after Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

They were crowned champions after playing 35 matches, winning 28, with four draws and four loses which earned them 88 points and 93 goals.

City were undisputed champions of the EPL, they overtook Arsenal after the Gunners suffered three straight draws in the hands of Liverpool (2-2) on April 9, West Ham United (2-2) on April 16 and with relegated Southampton (3-3) on April 21.

City had the luxury of opportunity to continue dominance on the log after they trashed Arsenal 4-1 on April 26.

The Gunners lost confidence in their abilities losing their two previous matches against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.

While they continued in their demoralised mood City were cruising on victories.

It was indeed a fantastic season for Pep Guardiola and his boys after defeating the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League (UCL) champions Real Madrid last week Wednesday.

City are on the brink of closing the football year with a treble as they have secured one with two to go.

The next task awaits them as they take on rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final June 3.

The following week will be the icing on the cake for the Citizens against Inter Milan in the final of the UCL on June 9 in Instabul, Turkey.

They have now won the EPL nine times since the history of the league in 1888.
