123-year-old virgin opens up about rejecting men, yearns for a partner in twilight years

Theresie Nyirakajumba, a 123-year-old virgin from Rwanda, is now expressing regret for turning away men throughout her life and is open to accepting any man who shows interest, despite her advanced age.

Growing up, Nyirakajumba adhered to a strict societal taboo that forbade girls from associating with boys, let alone engaging in romantic relationships.

She dutifully followed this norm, which led her to remain emotionally detached from any potential suitors. Even when she reached the age where she could have pursued a romantic partnership, she saw no need for it.

Every man who expressed interest in her was promptly rejected, regardless of the pressure from her parents and relatives.

“I consciously avoided any involvement with men. I had an intense fear of them, and that fear prevented me from developing any romantic feelings throughout my youth. Although I witnessed men coming to my hometown, I never experienced love for anyone,” Nyirakajumba recalled in an interview with Afrimax.

Now, after living as a virgin for 123 years without a partner or children to call her own, Nyirakajumba regrets her decisions and is actively searching for a man to potentially marry before she departs from this world.

This elderly woman lives a solitary life in a dangerously dilapidated house. Despite starting her search for a partner long ago, her advanced age has deterred any interested suitors from coming forward.

“Throughout my entire life, I never had a husband. I am 123 years old, and it is true that I have remained a virgin. If I had married, perhaps I would have had children, but I have none,” she lamented.

Despite her circumstances, Nyirakajumba maintains hope and believes that it’s never too late to find love and experience what she has missed her entire life before she passes away.

“If a man were to come forward, I would be open to exploring the possibilities,” she expressed.

Due to her old age, Nyirakajumba is unable to perform certain tasks, including feeding herself. This is the time when she would greatly appreciate the presence of her children and grandchildren, but unfortunately, she has none.
