Yobe Deputy Gov. Gubana, state speaker, others attend Eid el Kabir prayers

Yobe State Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, alongside Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chiroma Buba Mashio and State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammed Gadaka on Wednesday joined hundreds of Muslim faithful to observe the two raka’at Eid-el- Kabir prayers at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre in Damaturu, the state capital.

The two raka’at Eid prayers was led by the Chief Imam of Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre, Ustaz Hudu Mohammad Yusuf at exactly 8:10am.

Delivering his sermon after the prayers, Mallam Mohammed Yusuf encouraged Muslims to visit one another particularly family members, friends, neighbours and relatives during the celebration of Sallah.

The Chief Imam said there is huge benefits of brotherhood in Islam hence the needs for Muslims to emulate the Sunnah of prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The deputy governor, Gubana while addressing journalists shortly after slaughtering ram at the government house Damaturu, urged the people of the state to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Mai Mala Buni for them to enjoy the dividend of democracy and for peace and development for the state and the country as a whole.

Gubana urged the general public in the state especially those residing at the water ways to relocate to areas to avoid being affected by the flood as already warned by authorities concerned.
