IGP decorates father, son with new ranks same day

In a truly extraordinary moment, the Force Headquarters in Abuja witnessed an incredible event on Friday when a father and his son were both decorated with their new ranks as police officers by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun.

The father, now a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), and the son, newly promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (AIG), were honoured amidst the admiration and pride of their family.

The wife of the new DIG, who is also the mother of the new ASP, could hardly contain her happiness during the ceremony.

The first to receive recognition was the new DIG, Habu A. Sani, who was fervently applauded as he received his well-deserved promotion. Shortly after, his son, ASP Musa Sani, walked proudly to the stage as Egbetokun assisted in his decoration.

The Nigeria Police Force couldn’t help but share the exciting news on their Twitter handle, emphasizing the rarity of such an occasion.

The heartwarming ceremony, described as a once-in-a-blue-moon event, showcased the IGP and the father proudly adorning the ASP’s uniform right after the father’s own promotion.

Amidst the joyous celebration, Mrs. Sani looked on with deep admiration for her husband and son, a beautiful testament to their family’s dedication to serving their community.
