Every year on August 19th, the United Nations General Assembly designates World Humanitarian Day as a global initiative to save lives, protect the vulnerable, and provide essential necessities. It is a day to stand in solidarity with communities and bring hope to those in need.
Under the leadership of BOT Chairman, Ambassador Umar Yakubu Doshiro, Afrhud wasted no time in taking action. Relief materials, specifically food items, were distributed to those residing in the Ganuwa camp in Keffi.
Witnessing the event were representatives from Alsharaq, NYCN, Chairman GANUWA Progressive Association Amb. Umar Uji, Rajab Haske from Alsharaq Youth Nigeria Hub, Mohammed Idris from NYCN Keffi, and Comr Abdulli Jibrin Attabs from Ganuwa.
Following the flag off, the activities continued with the presentation of one-year academic grants to five secondary school students from different schools in Keffi. The lucky recipients were Ahmadu Ibrahim from GSS Keffi South, Fatima Muhammad Sirajo from Assasul Islam, Abdulkarim Adamu from KDF Model School, Kelvin Douglas from GSS Yelwa, and Fatima Suleiman from Sabilu Rashad School. This heartwarming moment took place in the presence of their parents and school management.
Expressing their gratitude, the refugees, those in need, and the recipients of the academic grants appreciate the kind-hearted gesture demonstrated by the leadership of these organisations. They are deeply touched to be recognised and supported during such challenging times.
