Nigeria Customs constructs Zone B headquarters in Kaduna
The Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, conducted a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, September 7th, 2023, for the construction of the Customs Service Zone B Headquarters. The impressive structure, situated on 25 hectares of land in the Mando area of Kaduna State, is part of the CG’s unwavering commitment to enhance the welfare and efficiency of the Service.
Addressing attendees at the ceremony, the CG hailed the project as a remarkable endeavor that will establish a solid and efficient infrastructure to drive the activities of the Service. He expressed his satisfaction at being present and reiterated his hope that the site would be transformed with remarkable readiness and preparation.

The CG emphasized that since assuming duty as the Acting Comptroller-General, his priority has been to redefine the Nigeria Customs Service, building upon the progress made by his predecessor and ensuring the robust implementation of beneficial projects for the Service.
The Customs Boss highlighted that the Zone B Headquarters, set to be completed, is one of many ongoing projects initiated by the Service across the country. He assured the construction company, CCECC Nigeria Limited, of his support to ensure the timely delivery of the project. He also conveyed that the successful completion of the project would open doors for future opportunities with the Service.
Jason Zhang, the Chairman of CCECC Nigeria Limited, a Chinese-owned construction company, expressed gratitude to the Comptroller General for entrusting them with the responsibility of constructing the Zone B Headquarters. Zhang emphasized that the construction would be a landmark project for the Service and assured the CG of their commitment to delivering the project with utmost dedication.
In a conversation with journalists following the foundation-laying ceremony, the CG explained that the Headquarters would resemble a cantonment, encompassing everything the Service requires for optimal Customs operations in Zone B and other areas throughout the Federation.
The Mando site for the Zone B Headquarters includes not only the Headquarters building itself but also an auditorium, residential accommodation for Assistant Comptrollers-General and Comptrollers, as well as blocks of flats for Deputy Comptrollers, Assistant Comptrollers, Chief Superintendents, and other ranks. Additional facilities such as a farmers market, shopping mall, religious buildings, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, roads, and drainage systems are also part of the project.
