NSCDC lures wanted pastor with N3,000,000 over N1.6 million visa scam
In a major development, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State has successfully apprehended a 39-year-old Pastor Michael Ogundepo in connection with an alleged visa scam. The suspect was taken into custody after falling for a bait of N3,000,000.
According to DSC Aidamenbor Daniel, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), the pastor had reportedly obtained N1.67 million from one Miss Fagbuyiro Ajetomobi-Yemi under the pretense of procuring a visa for her. However, after accepting the money, he seized both the funds and the complainant’s passport for a period of two months. This action effectively denied her the opportunity to apply for another visa.

The NSCDC had repeatedly invited the suspect for questioning, but he evaded their summons by claiming to be outside the country. To further disguise his actions, the pastor even used a fake international number to contact the complainant. However, the tables turned when he was lured into collecting the sum of N3,000,000 for a visa job, unaware that it was a carefully orchestrated trap.
Investigations into the case have revealed that Ogundepo has defrauded numerous unsuspecting clients using similar methods. As a result, the suspect will face charges under Section 419 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 37, Vol. 1 of Ondo State, 2006.
The NSCDC has emphasized its commitment to combating fraudulent activities and protecting citizens from falling victim to scams. They have urged the public to be cautious and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the appropriate authorities. Following the completion of the investigation, the case against Pastor Michael Ogundepo will progress to court, where justice will be pursued.
