Wike grants 3-month deadline for 189 undeveloped land plots
FCT Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has granted a three-month grace period to owners of 189 undeveloped plots of land in the territory to initiate development, failing which their allocation papers will be revoked.
Mr. Muhammad Sule, the Director of Information and Communication at the FCT Administration, made this announcement on Sunday in Abuja.

He revealed that the affected landowners had already obtained building plan approvals but had yet to commence development on their properties.
According to Sule, these property owners are expected to commence development within the specified timeframe; otherwise, their title documents will be revoked in accordance with existing laws.
This grace period extends to both individuals and corporate organizations that have demonstrated their intention to develop their properties by obtaining building plan approvals.
Sule also emphasized that public institutions holding land titles within the FCT must commence development within the three-month grace period to avoid facing sanctions.
“The minister has extended this leniency to 189 property owners due to their genuine intent to develop their properties, as evidenced by their acquisition of necessary documents from the FCT Administration,” Sule stated.
Furthermore, Sule urged the affected property owners to seize this opportunity and develop their plots in accordance with the terms outlined in their Offer of Right-of-Occupancy.
Additionally, the FCT Administration appeals to public institutions that have been allocated land to initiate development on their plots; failure to do so within the stipulated timeframe will result in the revocation of their title documents.
