More Rivers State commissioners resign from Gov. Fubara’s government
More Rivers State commissioners believed to be staunch loyalists of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, have tendered their resignation letters to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The resignation is coming after 27 lawmakers in the state assembly decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress earlier this week.

Their resignation letters, dated December 14, were addressed to the state Governor Fubara through the Secretary to the State Government.
Recently, Chief Jacobson Nbina has resigned from his position as Commissioner for Transport in Rivers State.
He is the eighth commissioner to step down from the state executive council.
Earlier, Dr George-Kelly Alabo, the Commissioner for Works, and Mrs Inime Chinwenwo-Aguma, the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, also submitted their resignation letters on Thursday.
Additionally, Dr Gift Worlu, the State Commissioner for Housing, has also resigned.
Others that have tendered their resignation letters are; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN); Commissioner for Works, Dr Des George-Kelly; Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke.
Also the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Inime Aguma; Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu; Commissioner for Education, Professor Chinedu Mmom, and Commissioner for Housing, Dr Gift Worlu.
