Gas explosion in Lagos destroys parts of National Arts Theatre

A gas explosion at the National Arts Theatre in Lagos State caused damage to parts of the building late at night on Saturday.

Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service’s Director of Public Affairs, Amodu Shakiru, informed journalists on Saturday that efforts are underway to contain the fire’s spread.

Shakiru stated, “A gas cylinder exploded, causing a fire that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently managing within the National Arts Theatre.”

This incident marks the third reported fire in Lagos State in the last seven days.

On Wednesday, December 27, a fire at Fat Noble filling station left four individuals with injuries, while a gas explosion at a market in the Ikotun area destroyed several shops and goods on Saturday.
