Halima Abdulrauf Launches “Igniting Resilience: An ultimate guide to getting out of your comfort zone” in Abuja
Halima Abdulrauf, a well-known journalist, has unveiled her book titled, “Igniting Resilience: An ultimate guide to getting out of your comfort zone” in Abuja, on Thursday 7th of December 2023.
The book launch took place at A’class event centre, Maitama under the distinguished chairmanship of the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman.
During the ‘connect the dots 2.0’ conference, the CEO/DG of NITDA, Dr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who was also the guest speaker, shared his life experience on resilience, emphasising the ability to bounce back.
He referenced a book he read titled “Anti-fragile” by Nassim Nicholas Talab and discussed the concept of fragile, robust, and anti-fragile systems.

The DG of NITDA also shared his personal experience during his youth service, encouraging youths to develop skills rather than just obtaining degrees. He emphasised the value of being empowered with a skill and highlighted the opportunities it can bring.
Earlier speaking, Malam Baba Yusuf, Group CEO, Global Investment and Trade Company (GITC), delved into the pressing issues facing Nigeria, particularly at the national and subnational levels.
Speaking on the conference theme, “Resilience: The Bridge to Your Dreams,” and the topic, “The Journey of Resilience and Success: Breaking Boundaries and Defying Expectations,” Yusuf highlighted the critical relevance of these discussions amidst the evolving socio-political and economic realities in the country.
He emphasised the detrimental impact of societal neglect on the younger generation, stressing that without intentional support, Nigeria risks plunging into the abyss of backwardness.
Yusuf underscored the need for strategic, purposeful, and determined resilience in the pursuit of success. Drawing parallels between the marathon of athletics and the journey to greatness and urged individuals to cultivate qualities such as momentum, stamina, perseverance, and determination.
According to Yusuf, unlike a one-off competition, the path to greatness is a continuous marathon with rewards at every step and an ultimate reward awaiting those who reach the finish line.
In conclusion, he warned that failing to support the youth would lead to the conscious and inadvertent destruction of society and its future.
