Health worker in Adamawa kills self shortly after boyfriend’s death
Florence Vandi, a 22-year-old lady from Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State has committed suicide by ingesting a poisonous substance.
Florence, who lived in Viniklang, Girei Local Government Area of the state, made the heartbreaking decision while mourning the death of her boyfriend.

The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the devastating news, revealing that Florence had consumed the toxic substance shortly after her boyfriend, Nuhu Boniface, passed away following a brief illness while he was receiving treatment at the hospital.
Further investigations revealed that Florence had been working as a Health Worker at the Girei Primary Health Care Centre up until her untimely death.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and urged the public to care for each other and prioritise mental health.
