Plateau Massacre: Victims laid to rest in mass burial ceremony

A mass burial ceremony has taken place to honour those who lost their lives in the recent spate of bandit attacks in Plateau state.

The assailants targeted various communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of the state, claiming numerous lives.

The attacks, occurring on Christmas Eve, Sunday, 24th December, specifically targeted Ruku, Hurum, Darwat, Mai Yanga Sabo, NTV villages in Gashish, and Ropp Districts within Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, along with additional incidents in Bokkos LGA.

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association, under the leadership of Solomon Mwantiri, strongly condemned these attacks.

Casualties were reported with NTV witnessing nine, Mai Yanga Sabo recording five, Darwat reporting three, and Hurum having one victim.

Bokkos and its surrounding villages bore the brunt of the attacks, with over forty lives lost, numerous injuries, looted food, and damaged property.
