Adamawa teenager faces jail term for defiling 9-year-old girl

A 16-year-old boy named Basiru Enu, a resident of Kwatau Village in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, has been taken into custody for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl.

According to a statement released by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson of the command, the arrest of the suspect was made at Kala’a Division following a complaint received from the girl’s father.

The statement revealed that the suspect allegedly took advantage of the victim while she was fetching water at the stream and forcefully engaged in sexual intercourse with the young girl.

Nguroje emphasised that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatole Adeniyi, expressed dismay at the incident and instructed the officer in charge of the Family Unit to take over the investigation and ensure the prosecution of the suspect.
