Police arrest abattoir worker for cutting off friend’s ear
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly cutting off his friend’s ear at Abattoir Market in Agege area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, said that the incident happened on Monday at about 6.00 a.m. at the Abattoir in Agege area of Lagos.

According to Mr. Hundeyin, the case was reported by one Abdulahi Adulmalik of Abattoir Market to the Abattoir Police Division.
The complainant stated that in the early hours of Monday, Bashiru Ahmed, also of Abattoir Market, reportedly used a knife to cut off his right ear following a disagreement that stemmed from an incident in 2023.
The victim was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention and is currently undergoing treatment.
Hundeyin also mentioned that the suspect is in police custody for further questioning and will be charged to court much later.
