Yobe traders organise special prayers over rising hardship in Nigeria

Thousands of people have converged in Potiskum to offer a special prayer session seeking for Allah’s intervention in the current state of hardship, economic meltdown and inflation being witnessed all over the country.

Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria Yobe State chapter organised the special prayer session in a bid to find succour on the difficult living conditions of people in the state.

The event took place at Government Day Secondary School Potiskum featuring quranic recitation, offerings to the vulnerable and less privileged and special prayer sessions.

Neptune Prime gathered that the executive chairman of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria Yobe State chapter, and Chairman, United Marketers and Traders Association of the state, Alhaji Nasiru Mato, said the special prayer was necessitated by the state of hardship, suffering and inflation in prices of all goods across the nation.

Alhaji Mato attributed the inflation experienced to hoarding of goods by some businessmen, rise in the price of dollar, and the cost of transportation of the goods accustomed by the fuel subsidy removal.

He called on all Nigerians to pray hard and seek for the intervention of the creator, instead of organising protest that will only worsen the situation.

Lamenting on the present condition, Mato said crime rate has risen to its peak as everyone is in dire need of money.

Addressing the congregation, Director Annahada Islamic Corps, Shaikh Muktari Waliy called on all muslims to seek for divine forgiveness and repentance from Allah.

While commending the efforts of the prayer organizers, Sheikh Waliy, called on all muslims to avoid committing all sort of atrocities and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him and the Holy Quran.

He outlined reasons like betrayal, hoarding,
hypocrisy, unforseen interest, wickedness and evil doings as the major causes of hardship.

The prayer session and quranic recitation was led by Malam Hassan Parsawa.

The cleric also advised wealthy individuals to give offerings to the vulnerable and less privileged in the society.
