Residents capture 3 burglars terrorising Yobe community
Story from Ibraheem EL-TAFSEER, Damaturu
Taking advantage of heavy downpour on Monday morning, three habitual thieves burgled citizens’ residents to steal valuables.
The assailants were arrested at Anguwar Jaji area in Potiskum, Yobe State, while raiding an uncompleted clinic.
After removing all the faucets in the clinic, before escaping, some good samaritans of the community apprehended them and immediately handed them over to the NSCDC security officers in Potiskum.
Neptune Prime visited the NSCDC office in Jigawar-Potiskum District to discuss with the 2IC, Officer Salisu Madu, who confirmed the incident, but didn’t divulge much information to journalists because of ongoing investigation.
However, one of the thieves confessed to journalists saying, “My name is Munkaila Isyaka, I am from Nahuta area in Potiskum, 17 years old. I was a mechanic before, later I turned to theft. I can’t count the number of houses I entered for stealing.

“We do it in a group where one of us stands outside, and two of us go inside the house. We remove any metal we see inside the house and also pull out electrical wires in buildings,” he said.
All the three thieves have been arrested and will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
