Eid-ul-Maulud: FG declares Monday public holiday
The Federal Government has declared Monday, 16th September 2024, as a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Maulud, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government, extending his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and abroad.
In a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister encouraged Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period.

He also urged everyone to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace and prosperity in the nation.
The declaration comes as part of the government’s efforts to ensure the observance of the Islamic festival across the country.
