Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday reportedly interrogated the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, John Tsoho, for several hours over a large sum of cash allegedly discovered in his wife’s possession.

Sources said the anti-graft agency invited the senior judicial officer for questioning after his wife was allegedly intercepted by EFCC operatives while travelling to Benue State. She was reportedly returned to Abuja following the interception.

According to sources familiar with the incident, about $160,000 in cash was allegedly found with her at the time. Authorities have yet to officially clarify the origin of the money or the purpose of the trip.

The development comes amid growing scrutiny surrounding Justice Tsoho. He is expected to appear before the Code of Conduct Bureau on March 16, 2026, over allegations that he failed to properly declare some of his assets as req
