A 21-year-old today admitted killing her eight-month-old baby who was suffocated to death.
Caitlin Jones was charged with the murder of little Francesca Haworth following her death in 2018.
Jones pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Preston Crown Court today.
Police were called by the Ambulance Service to an address in Blackpool, at around 7.30 am on 7 November 2018.
Emergency services took the unresponsive baby to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where she died a short time later.
A Home Office post-mortem gave a cause of death as suffocation.
Jones had been arrested and initially charged with murder in July last year.
However, following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, a guilty plea to manslaughter was accepted.
Jones was bailed and will be sentenced in June.
