A 23-year-old woman, Daniel Mercy, was arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for alleged fraud.

The defendant, who resides at Ado Community High School, Omisanajana Area in Ado-Ekiti, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Prosecutor Insp. Sodiq Adeniyi informed the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offense between February 1 and March 12 at Owowi Global Venture Limited Store on Ajilosun Street. He stated that Mercy, a cashier at the company, fraudulently stole and converted a cash sum of ₦1.1 million that was entrusted to her for her own use.
