3 arrested for vandalising transformers in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended three individuals for allegedly vandalizing and stealing transformer cables in Wuro Dole, located in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrests were made following credible information from a reliable source. The suspects—Rabiu Ali (28), Muhammad Musa (42), and Abubakar Usman (18)—are accused of stealing cables that supply power to parts of Girei. They are believed to have conspired with three accomplices who are still at large.

The suspects are said to have vandalized the transformer, removing armored cables with the intent of profiting from their theft. Nguroje confirmed that the arrested individuals will be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.
State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, praised the efforts of the Girei Divisional Police Officer and his team for their swift action. He has instructed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to lead the investigation and track down the remaining suspects.
The CP also urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity around transformers for prompt intervention.
