3 arrested with human skull in Imo
The Imo State Police Command has arrested three men in Ogii, Okigwe Local Government Area, for allegedly possessing a human skull.
The suspects, identified as Patrick Okoere (29), Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka (28), and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi (20), were detained on February 3 after a tip-off from residents.
According to police spokesperson Henry Okoye, the trio was found along the Okigwe-Umuahia Expressway with a human skull, a native hen, and white garments. Okoere claimed his uncle, Osunta Oko, had asked him to procure the skull for a land dispute, which he said he found by a riverbank in an area known for kidnappings.
The suspects are under investigation, and authorities are working to identify the skull’s owner through DNA analysis. Police are also pursuing Oko and other potential accomplices. Imo’s Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, assured the public that justice would be served as the investigation continues.
