3-storey building collapses, several injured

A 3-storey building in the early hours of Thursday collapsed in Lagos, leaving several occupants injured.

The ill-fated structure, is located on Asesi Lane near the popular Adeniji Adele Road axis of the State.

Eyewitnesses described a sudden thunderous crash followed by frantic screams, as dust and debris engulfed the neighbourhood.

Emergency responders, including officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), were quickly deployed to the scene to assist in the rescue efforts.

“Four persons have been rescued from the rubble. They have been taken to hospital,” Lagos State Information Commissioner Gbenga Omotoso said in a Facebook post.

While the exact number of injuries remains unconfirmed, eyewitnesses reported that multiple residents were hurt and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
