7 die in Yobe road crash as commercial vehicle somersaults

Seven people have been confirmed dead in a fatal road crash on the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway in Yobe State. The accident, which occurred on Tuesday, also left several other passengers with injuries.

Sources told Akelicious that the crash involved a commercial vehicle traveling towards Maiduguri. The driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to somersault on the highway.

Local residents and good Samaritans immediately rushed to the scene to assist.

They helped evacuate the victims to a nearby hospital, where seven were pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to hospital sources, the injured are currently receiving treatment, with some reported to be in critical condition.
