92-year-old Paul Biya wins presidential election, extends 43-year rule in Cameroon
President Paul Biya, aged 92, has been officially declared the winner of Cameroon’s 2025 presidential election, extending his more than four-decade rule.

According to results released by the Constitutional Council on Monday, Biya secured 53.66% of the votes, defeating his closest rival, Issa Tchiroma, who garnered 35.19%.
The election, held on October 12, cements Biya’s position as one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders, granting him another seven-year term in office.
