According to Jamilu, the rationale behind the action of the suspected cultists may not be unconnected with the growing ritual activities and insecurity in the area.

“I’m not surprised with the arrest of these boys. Because recently, there has been a rise in the activities of ritualists in our area as people need charm to protect themselves from kidnappers and political thugs.” He said.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Taraba State command Peter Godwin confirmed the arrest and added that the command has already begun investigation on the matter.

Those arrested are Bashir, Modi and Ado who are between the ages of 20 and 26. The arrest was made in Nguroje village of the local government.
