Eid-el-Kabir: Yobe gov’s aide, Hon. Saratu Sabo, distributes Sallah packages to 500 vulnerable women

Story by Sa’adatu MAINA, Damaturu

The Special Adviser to Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, on the Nigeria for Women Project, Hon. Saratu Sabo, has flagged off the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir Sallah package distribution on Tuesday, benefiting 500 vulnerable women and families across the state.

Two categories of beneficiaries were involved, some received a cash support of ₦50,000, while the other category received the sum of ₦20,000 to cushion economic hardship and ensure a memorable Sallah celebration.

The ceremony, which took place in Damaturu, marked a significant milestone in Governor Buni’s ongoing commitment to easing financial burdens and spreading festive joy among the less privileged.

In her address, Hon. Saratu Sabo emphasised that the initiative aligns perfectly with the core objectives of the Nigeria for Women Project, toward empowering women, promoting social inclusion, and strengthening household resilience.

“In the spirit of giving, today we have flagged off the distribution of Sallah packages to 500 women across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State,” she said.

She appreciated Governor Mai Mala Buni for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, especially women.

She further stated that this initiative is a demonstration that true leadership is about touching lives, supporting the grassroots, and standing with the people during every festival occasion.

Describing the gesture as more than just assistance, she called it a clear demonstration of love, concern, inclusion, and appreciation for the loyalty of party supporters in the state.
