Residents in the Sangotedo area, Lekki Lagos State have apprehended a dispatch rider after a baby was allegedly found inside his courier box.
A video of the incident sent to our reporter showed the rider being assaulted by a mob and some was later taken to an unknown destination.

One of the persons in the background was heard saying, “This is the child that was abducted.”
However, the Lagos State Police Command says it will be investigating reports of a yet-to-be-identified dispatch rider who was allegedly found with a baby in his courier box.
In a statement released on Saturday morning March 12, 2022, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, spokesperson of the command, says the incident which was said to have occurred in the Sangotedo area, Lekki, was not reported at any police station to enable the police take appropriate actions.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed that efforts should be intensified to locate the whereabouts of the alleged dispatch rider and the parents or guardians of the child to enable the police to investigate the incident.
