Assist Nigerian gov’t in improving healthcare – AVM Mamu rtd urges wealthy individuals

Corporate and wealthy individuals have been urged to assist the Nigerian government in improving the healthcare sector for the betterment of society.

Air Vice Marshall Alkali Mohammed Mamu retired made the appeal at the Neptune Prime‘s maiden awards event, book unveiling and launch of the Lami Fatima Cervical Cancer Foundation in Abuja, Nigeria on Wednesday.

Mamu the retired officer who is also the Baraden of Fika represented the Emir of Fika, Alhaji Mohammed Abali Ibn Idrissa, at the event said, “I am calling on the corporate and wealthy individuals to assist the three tiers of government in developing the public health sector for the less privileged to benefit from the better and modern healthcare sector.”

According to him, the public sector is in need of support from the people for the public to have a reliable and healthy lifestyle.

Mamu, however, called on the people to endeavour to visit primary healthcare centres regularly for medical experts to ascertain illness on time and prescribe the best medicine and how to guard against future preventive measures.

He also urged the public to ensure they maintain a clean environment to guard against contracting diseases.

The Baraden of Fika, however, called on the health sector stakeholders to be proactive in having modern cancer centres, to address the causes of different types of cancer amongst Nigerians.
