Manchester City wrapped up this weekend’s English Premier League (EPL) matches trashing Newcastle United 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium Sunday evening to stay three points clear ahead Liverpool.

City who kicked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid on Wednesday were not deterred to continue their title defence taking the lead twice first 45 minutes courtesy Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte who scored in 19th and 38th minute respectively.

With vigour from the Pep Guardiola’s men after the break they rendered Newcastle defence useless finding the back of the net three times.

Rodrigo Hernández Cascante and Phil Foden capitalised on Eddie Howe’s weak back four in the 61st minute and 90th minute making it 4-0 while Sterling scored his second goal of the match in the 93rd.

City momentarily are topping the log with 86 points while Liverpool trailing three points behind with 83.
