Gunmen Attack: Southeast youth say it will be fire for fire forthwith

Southeast youths have reportedly declared war against gunmen suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN)/ the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Anambra State and the region at large.

According to a news published by The Nation Newspaper, the youths identified as Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) said they have had enough of it and will no longer fold their hands and watch the gunmen destroy their land, and any attack by gunmen will result to a counterattack by them and that it is now fire for fire.

This was revealed by the President-General of the group, Goodluck Ibem, who condemned the killing of Anambra lawmaker, Okechukwu Okoye and his aide. He said people were also killed a day after gunmen beheaded Okechukwu and also burnt security vehicles and a police station.

He said the plot by hoodlums and assailants to turn Anambra State and Igboland into a killing field is dead on arrival, and that they will no longer complain about insecurity in the region, but rather they would rise up and defend their homes and communities.

The President-General called on Governor Charles Soludo to form a security outfit in the state and also fund them so they can protect and secure various communities in the state. He said Professor Charles Soludo should know that war has been declared on him and his people and that he has to remove his suit and tie so as to fight and defeat these gunmen who have vowed to make the state ungovernable for him.
