We must find somebody that would work in harmony with Atiku – Adamu Waziri

Story from Haruna A. YUSUF

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adamu Maina Waziri, has quoted the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, as saying he would not be the running mate to anybody in the 2023 presidential race.

Contrary to speculations, the PDP chieftain said Atiku did not send him to Istanbul, Turkey to meet with the Governor as speculated.

According to him, he went to observe his leave last Friday and they (he and Wike) coincidentally met in a hotel.

On this issue of Wike declaring that he would not be anybody’s running mate, Waziri added, “Therefore we must find who will work in harmony with our presidential candidate.”

Adamu Waziri also said in an interview with BBC Hausa service monitored by Neptune Prime that he disagreed with the decision of the party to plead with the Governor.

According to Waziri, Wike is aggrieved and he needs time to get over what happened.

“I agree with the reconciliation but where I defer in opinion is on the issue of sending that high-level delegation to kneel for him.”

He advised that whatever decisions the party made, all loyal members should abide by them.

“We must keep aside whatever happened during the primary elections and move on, the party supremacy is over and above the interest of all of us,” he noted.
