Gov. Bala nominates 6 new commissioners

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has nominated six new commissioners for screening and confirmation to the House of Assembly.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the speaker, Comrade Abdul Ahmad Burra, on Tuesday and made available to newsmen.

According to the statement, the names of the nominees were received during the plenary of the House for screening and confirmation.

The nominees are Abdulkadir Ibrahim – Alkaleri local government area, Zainab Baban Takko – Bauchi local government area and Adamu Babayo Gabarin – Darazo local government area.

Others include Maryam Garba Bagel of Dass LGA, Dr Sabiu Abdu Gwalabe – Katagum LGA and Ahmed Aliyu Jalam of LGA.

The statement also added that the governor also sent the name of Joshua Titus Sanga for screening and confirmation as DG Public Procurement Bureau as well as Sagir Abdullahi Muhammad for the position of Auditor-General.

Burra said that the Assembly has referred the screening of the DG Public Procurement Bureau and Auditor-General to the House committees of Appropriation and Public Account.

He said that the two committees were given two weeks to report back.

According to Comrade Burra, the screening and confirmation of the commissioners are slated to hold on 7th September 2022.
