FIFA Under 17: Nigeria to face USA after finishing second in Group B

The Nigerian under 17 female national team, The Flamingos will square up against USA in Quarter-final at the ongoing FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup in India after finishing second in Group B.

The Flamingos secured the second spot in the group this afternoon following their 2-1 victory over Chile.

The goal came early for the Flamingos in four minutes into the game from Blessing Ngozi Emmanuel while the second was scored by Mosaku in the 82nd minute.

Chile reduced the tally to 2-1 in 91st minute courtesy Tali Sima Rovner Yudelevich.

Monday’s victory was a build up from their last game against New Zealand whom they trashed 4-0 last week.

They will face a rather fierce opponent – USA on Friday after they finished second in Group A which had Brazil, Morocco, and hosts India.

The match will be played at the 55,000 capacity DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
