While all eyes were on Karim Benzema for winning the 2022 Ballon d’Or at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, venue of the award ceremony, Senegal international and Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mané, had his own moment as he was hailed for wearing African attire.

Mané who was ranked number two (2) in the world arrived the venue in a senator attire which made many fans on the microblogging platform, Twitter react – this perhaps shows he was African even when it was a black-tie event.
The 30-year-old has been consistent in representing Africa. Recall that the winger arrived Germany in a native outfit to complete his move to Bayern Munich.
The 2022 Ballon d’Or award is one of the biggest awards in the history of football, but the 2022 edition has seen a shift of an era from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo finished in the 20th position, while Lionel Messi wasn’t nominated.
