Iran launches missile barrages on Israel after Beirut strikes as IRGC declares week-long campaign,
Israel has confirmed it came under multiple waves of Iranian missile fire after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the start of a week-long campaign targeting Israeli territory, following Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah-linked sites in Beirut that triggered rapid regional escalation.
The IRGC said its operation is “not a passing event” but the beginning of “a full week of continuous strikes,” warning that missile and drone attacks would continue for seven days unless what it described as Israeli aggression stops. The declaration came after Iran launched several ballistic missile barrages toward northern Israel.

Israeli authorities reported that most of the incoming missiles were intercepted by air defense systems or landed in open areas. Residents in affected regions were briefly ordered into shelters before being allowed to return. No immediate casualties have been reported.

The IRGC further warned that any attack on Iranian territory would be met with what it called a “devastating and overwhelming response beyond all expectation,” raising concerns that the current exchange could expand into a wider regional conflict involving multiple fronts.
The strikes followed Israeli air operations on southern Beirut, which Israel said targeted Hezbollah infrastructure. The attacks sparked immediate condemnation from Tehran and were followed by Iran’s retaliatory missile launches.
In Tehran’s Revolution Square, large crowds were reported gathering and celebrating the missile strikes on Israel, describing them as retaliation for the bombing of Lebanon. The public demonstrations reflected visible support among segments of the population for Iran’s military response amid rising nationalist sentiment.

In a related development, media operative and former Unit 8200-linked analyst Barak Ravid reports that U.S. President Donald Trump has said he plans to call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to urge him not to respond to Iran’s latest missile strikes. According to the report, Trump stressed the importance of restraint as part of ongoing efforts to prevent further escalation in the conflict.
