Tipper kills 2 along Lafia-Jos road

Two people have been crushed to death by a tipper in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred along the Lafia-Jos road by the Nasarawa State Polytechnic Lafia at about 7 pm.
The victims are a commercial motorcycle rider and his passenger.
The tipper belongs to a construction company in Lafia.
A security official who was involved in removing the corpse of the motorcycle rider from under the truck attributed the cause of the accident to a one-way drive along the road due to the collapse of one part of the bridge linking the area to Lafia town.
The security official who pleaded to speak to Neptune Prime under the condition of anonymity, while confirming the deaths of the yet-to-be-identified persons called on authorities to expedite action to ensure a speedy completion of the collapsed bridge to curtail the further loss of lives in the area.
At the time of filing this report, the incident had caused heavy traffic in the area.
