Yobe flags off 2022 Tsangaya School Support, distributes food baskets, clothes to Almajiris

Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has flagged off the 2022 Tsangaya School Support to vulnerable Almajiris in Tsangayas across the 17 Local Government Areas in the state as part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s efforts and interventions to cushion the sufferings of the Almajiris and those learning at Tsangaya Schools, especially in the winter season.

According to the Executive Secretary (ES) of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr Mohammed Goje, about 475 Tsangaya Schools across the 17 LGAs are expected to benefit from the support.

He said each school would benefit from a food basket to support both teachers and students, winter clothes, and NFI (buckets, mats, blankets) among others to cushion the hardships in the winter seasons.

Dr Goje called on the people of the state to continue giving their support and cooperation to the state Governor, Honourable Mai Mala Buni for the interest of the state.
